WHAT WE DO

Ace & Son Moving Picture Company, LLC is a full service animation production facility. We also offer production services and editorial suites.

Look at our library to see selections from some of the work we've produced ---commercials, short films, documentaries, motion graphics, special effects, animation for feature films and just about anything else that involves putting images in motion

A FEW OF OUR FAVORITE THINGS

While we love all our children, some make us a little prouder than others.

During the 2008 election, we worked with one of our favorite collaborators, Gail Levin, to produce The Naked Campaign for The New Yorker and Sundance.

Also with Gail, Richard produced the titles and animation for her documentary "Cab Calloway: Sketches". This film aired in February 2012 on PBS' "American Masters" as their tribute to Black History Month. The final piece of animation showcased ancartoon Cab dancing with Matthew Rushing from the Alvin Ailey company.

For nearly two years we shared our space with Behemoth the Cat, but he eventually moved into an upscale apartment. He left a few bow ties.

WHO WE ARE

We had a long winded mythology written about Aki "Ace" Akesson, the legendary Icelandic animator. But really, we know you don't care.

The studio is helmed by Richard O'Connor, whose career in production goes back to the legendary The Ink Tank (under R. O. Blechman) where he produced children's series and commercials.

He's been an adjunct professor at Parsons School of Design since 1999 and has taught and lectured at several other institutions.

The studio has a permanent staff of artists and augments its capacity on a project-by-project basis.
